“To be human is to experience wounds that disrupt or distort our connections to the Self. These are called narcissistic wounds and result in narcissism that is visible as self-absorption and a lack of capacity for relatedness. It occurs in gradations along a continuum from healthy to pathological.” (p7)

This seminar is a depth understanding of narcissistic wounding and the healing process that will restore the true self. It is not about working with narcissistic personality disorders although understanding and insight into narcissism will be gained.

The benefit gained from working in this group seminar include:

  • The therapist is a mirror others look into, this learning will polish that mirror to increase its depths.

  • An understanding of the psyche's need for mirroring will be explored from the perspectives of attachment theory, developmental theory, neuroscience, and spirituality.

  • Increased understanding of narcissistic wounding and your capacity for case conceptualization for working clinically with this issue.

  • Gain insight into the archetypes of the Wicked Stepmother, Snow White, Echo, Narcissus, Medusa, and Pegasus so that these insights may assist in following the process of transformation in the psyche.

  • Discuss cases and learn strategies for improved mirroring, developing self-mirroring, containing the transformative process, and growth and development in the psyche.

Limited to 8 participants. This seminar will be offered bi- weekly, on Friday mornings from 9:00 to 10:30am, EST. Each meeting will offer 1.5 CEUs for a total of 15 credits.
