The Counseling Center believes in providing accessible mental health care to the community. We strongly value confidentiality and maintain the highest standards of HIPAA compliance.

For therapists who are in-network with your insurance, they are happy to discuss what this means for you. For therapists who are out-of-network with your insurance and should you decide to seek reimbursement from your insurer, we are happy to provide you with documentation that you can file upon request.

We are currently offering both in-person and virtual sessions through HIPAA-compliant video platforms.

Sessions are 50 minutes, though your therapist may recommend longer sessions under certain circumstances.

** Mental Health Benefits for United HealthCare Plans under Maryland Medicaid are covered under the Medicaid Specialty Behavioral Health Line. Since our therapists are not in-network with Medicaid, unfortunately, mental health services at The Counseling Center will not be covered under your plan.

** Please note that Tricare East Region differs from Johns Hopkins US Family Health Plan (Tricare). Our therapist who take Tricare East Region are not in-network with Johns Hopkins US Family Health Plan (Tricare).

Private-Pay and Out-of-Network fees are $180 for the Intake session and $150 for subsequent sessions.

We accept the following methods of payment: Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Discover, HSA, and FSA cards.

For virtual sessions, we request that a credit card is kept on file that will be charged after your session. If you are seeing a therapist in-person, you’re welcome to pay by check or cash if you’d prefer.
