Summer is here! And with summer comes beautiful weather and more activities. Even though summer is for fun in the sun, it can also get busy and stressful. Feeling like there is no down time because you are always on the run to do things before summer slips away.
While keeping up with daily life, there is still time for some self-care. No matter where you are or how busy the day is, there is a way to take some time for yourself.
The 7 Pillars of Self-Care:
Mental self-care is to create a healthy mindset.
Taking a break from screen time and meditating
Writing in a journal
Creating a brain dump list at the start of the day
Emotional self-care helps create healthy coping strategies for stressors that could occur during your daily life.
Watching a favorite movie or show
Listening to music
Speaking positively about yourself to yourself
Physical self-care involves taking care of your body as a whole.
Drinking plenty of water
Getting a good night’s sleep
Taking a daily multivitamin and eating proper meals
Environmental self-care takes care of the places around you and places you love.
Arranging your workspace for a more pleasant look to you
Decluttering living spaces and keeping them clean
Exploring new places and going on hikes that will appeal to all 5 senses
Spiritual self-care are the practices to give you a sense of meaning.
Spending time in nature
Finding a community with your values
Understanding what is most important to you
Recreational self-care is important to make time for hobbies and activities you like.
Going on a hike / adventure
Taking time to relax and do nothing
Crafting, gardening, playing games
Social self-care is building relationships with healthy boundaries.
Connecting with friends
